Echo Ridge Golf Course
The scenically breathtaking Qu’ÄôAppelle Valley forms a magnificent backdrop for Echo
Ridge Golf Course -- a place that surprises many visitors with its lush beauty. Echo Ridge has
existed since the 1920s, but the land on which this challenging golf course sits has a history
that goes back even further. Last century the land was occupied by a Northwest Mounted Police
Fort. The old foundations of many of its buildings can still be seen near the clubhouse. As
well, several brass plaques (explaining the history of the fort) can be found at significant
locations around the course. There is even an historic grave (of a commander of the fort) that
sits on a small hill over-looking the 3rd hole. But don’Äôt get too wrapped up in your
historical reverie, as you will need to devote some of your attention to the task at hand.
Well maintained rolling fairways and a variety of contoured greens require you to be on your
toes at all times. At Echo Ridge you can expect to use every club in your bag. When playing
the 7th a word of advice is in order. Play safe and don’Äôt try to hit over the chokecherry
trees at the corner of the dogleg. Most who do find themselves in the trees and fighting for
bogie.
