Highview Golf Course
This challenging 18 hole course is built on a game reserve so be prepared to share
your round of golf with the local residents, which may include deer, Canada Geese, moose, fox
and raccoons. The terrain varies almost as much as the wildlife with some fairways rolling and
others being pretty flat. However, with a working philosophy of constant improvement on the
part of the course owners, you will find all greens and fairways in excellent condition and a
pleasure to play. With relatively narrow fairways and a lot more water than most golfers like
to see, Highview offers an excellent test of your golfing skills. The 7th hole, a par four and
250 yards, is one of just two island greens in all of Northern Ontario and a thrill to play.
The big decision is whether or not to go for it off the tee or lay up to the water with a 175
yard tee shot and then go for the green on the second shot. The 11th hole is similar and some
find it even more challenging than the island green. It will take you two shots on this par
five, 475 yard fairway to get to the in¬‚ter¬‚sect¬‚ing water in front of the green. Then you
must carry over the water, which is still about 100 yards from the green.
