Kirkland Lake
Kirkland Lake Golf Club
Described by many as the best nine hole course in northern Ontario, the 3,100 yard,
par 72 course at the Kirkland Lake Golf Club will challenge and please everyone, from the
novice to the expert. The fairways run over rolling terrain and, like the greens, are
extremely well kept with an ir¬‚ri¬‚ga¬‚tion system main¬‚tain¬‚ing lush grasses on both. If you
like to play over and around wa¬‚ter, a scenic creek meanders through five of the nine holes.
The 2nd hole is con¬‚sid¬‚ered a particularly challenging ’Äúwater hole.’Äù The most chal¬‚leng¬‚ing,
however, is the 6th, a par three at 210 yards. With an out of bounds to the left, you’Äôre
shooting over water, and your tee shot will often be into the tricky prevailing wind. For
scenery, noth¬‚ing tops the great view from the most scenic hole of the course, the 5th. This
par five, 485 yard challenge is situated at the highest point on the course, over¬‚look¬‚ing the
re¬‚main¬‚ing five holes.
