Markdale
Markdale Country Club
Nestled right in the hub of Grey County, in the village of Markdale near the scenic
Beaver Valley, the Markdale Country Club has provided a relaxing retreat for golf since its
founding in 1966. It features rolling, well maintained fairways that range from open to quite
tight with a good mix of water and sand in play throughout. The most scenic hole on the course
is the 3rd, an exciting par three that plays over a large spring fed pond. Two different tee
positions allow this hole to be played by according to your skill level with the second tee
shortening the flight path over water by more than half. The toughest hole at Markdale is the
6th, a demanding par four with a slight dogleg right. Here the trick is to keep your ball in
play, a tall task with tall trees encroaching both sides of the fairway and a stream in play
at the dogleg’Äôs corner. A difficult hole under ideal conditions, the 6th can become somewhat
of a monster when the winds are strong. A great hole to test your golf skills! A friendly,
courteous staff, modest green fees, good course conditioning and a relaxing clubhouse
atmosphere has made Markdale a very enjoyable golf experience....come visit soon
