Ainsdale Golf Course
A popular course with tourists and residents alike, the Ainsdale Golf Course is a
family run facility famous for a friendly atmosphere that can make first time visitors
instantly feel welcome. Its 18 holes lie on scenic, rolling terrain on the shores of Lake
Huron, and golfers are treated to some wonderful views during their rounds. Ainsdale’Äôs plush
fairways and greens are always in excellent condition, and they benefit from a fully automated
and computerized irrigation system that ensure that they always receive the water they need.
From the championship tees the course measures 6,442 yards, long enough to challenge the best
golfers. The large number of water and sand hazards in play throughout the course makes sure
that things always stay interesting and golfers can never afford to sit back and lose their
focus. This is particularly true on Ainsdale’Äôs large and undulating greens, which are known
for putting fast and rarely delivering a straight putt. A sharp dogleg left on the 11th hole
delivers an excellent risk/reward scenario for the low handicapper. Most golfers will play
about a 220 yard drive to the corner of this 491 yard par five, leaving them still a fairway
wood and a chip to the green. More adventurous golfers, however, sometimes try to fly their
tee shot over the trees at the corner to leave them with about a 200 yard approach with their
2nd shot. Be warned, however, few golfers succeed in making the green in two and you are
probably wise in taking the conventional path to the green.
