Since 1957, Gladstone Golf and Country Club has been providing area enthusiasts with a conveniently located 9 holes to satiate their golfing appetites. It is located about four miles south of town on Highway 34.
In 1985, the course had every green professionally redesigned to make its seemingly straightforward layout more difficult than it first appears. These greens are large, and while most are not guarded by sand or water hazards, they are quite demanding due to their deceptive undulations and many possible pin placements. In addition to the greens, the course sports many inconveniently placed trees (both naturally occurring and planted) requiring cautious play and many challenging drives.
Otherwise, Gladstone is a fairly level course (a few fairways are slightly rolling) with few hidden surprises. Golfers young and old will enjoy its generous, forgiving nature.
Nearby there is a campground with heated pool, making this an ideal destination for vacationing families.
