Boissevain
Boissevain Golf Club
Forty-five minutes south of Brandon at the edge of the Turtle Mountain Provincial
Park lies the Boissevain Golf Club, a challenging 9 hole course established in 1960. The
course serves local golfers as well as tourists and vacationers to the Turtle Mountains, the
In¬‚ter¬‚na¬‚tion¬‚al Peace Gardens and Lake Metigoshe. The course has taken on a new look with
upgrading to its watering system, new tee off boxes, a newly constructed cart shed, paths and
much more. The club takes pride in its meticulously manicured and sculptured fairways, which
are not only appealing to the eye, but give the course a whole new dimension. With the
continued upgrading and general maturity of the course, golfers will be assured of a relaxing
and enjoyable round of golf on this well-groomed course. The terrain ranges from level to
rolling with some holes offering quite a slant to the game. The 6th hole for example is a 165
yard, par 3 with a pond system running along the lower side and a steep hillside on the other.
A straight shot will be required to catch this well protected green. The course design is for
all levels of play, from the recreational player to the more competitive. Boissevain was the
home of the Canadian Turtle Derby, which was celebrated annually on the second weekend in
July. The Boissevain Golf Club will still host a three day open tournament on this weekend to
help celebrate this well known event.
