University Golf Club
Tucked into Pacific Spirit Park on the UBC Endowment Lands, not 15 minutes from the heart of downtown Vancouver, sits a golf landmark. The University Golf Club celebrated its 75th Anniversary in 2004, serving the public golfer with an 18-hole course accessible and enjoyable for golfers of every level of play. Carved out of the old growth forest the traditionally styled fairways play narrow, especially off the tees - where accurate drives are required to stay out of trouble. Accuracy is also required when approaching the course’Äôs small greens (each averaging about 5500 sq.ft.) where most of the course’Äôs 50 bunkers can be found. The University Golf Club is also host to one of the premier lesson programs in the city with a private teaching area and over 10 CPGA pros available for private, group or corporate clinic instruction. With attention to service and a comfortable, friendly atmosphere, UGC’Äôs Clubhouse is a great place to relax with friends. Be sure to visit their award winning golf shop as well as the Westward Ho! Restaurant. The menu is extensive and there is a great deck overlooking the course.
