Hope Golf & Country Club
A single lane bridge spanning the fast flowing Coquihalla River brings you to this
picturesque 9 hole course. This river is noted for its Fall salmon runs and local legend has
it the salmon would run so thick in the old days you could walk across the river without
touching bottom. With glorious mountain views in every direction, the Hope Golf &
Country Club has a (surprisingly) country ’Äúfeel’Äù to it. This is partly due to the quiet
seclusion created by Hope’Äôs many old growth cedar and fir trees. It is also due to the
friendliness of the membership, and new golfers are always made to feel welcome. The course
itself has tight fairways, hemmed in by the many trees. Excellent clearing of the brush around
the trees means, however, you should have little difficulty finding your ball if you stray
from the fairway. Watch your pin placement when landing on the 7th’Äôs green - it’Äôs surrounded
by sand and lies at the junction of the Fraser and Coquihalla Rivers. The course is also noted
for excellent drainage, and its firm, dry fairways which yield excellent bounce. Count on them
to add valuable yards to your drives.
