Castlegar Golf Club
Castlegar’Äôs 18 challenging holes are set on an plateau above the Columbia River,
where you’Äôll be treated to some truly spectacular panoramas of the surrounding mountains. But
don’Äôt lose yourself completely in the mountain vistas, for you’Äôll have to stay focused if
you’Äôre to give one of the province’Äôs best layouts a run for its money. Here the challenge lies
not only on Castlegar’Äôs well designed fairways, but its well manicured, rolling greens, most
of which possess distinctive slopes that can be tricky to read. Consistently praised by Golf
Digest as one of Canada’Äôs best courses for overall value and golfing enjoyment, the Castlegar
Golf Club is also known locally for its friendly atmosphere, which has helped make it a
favourite venue for social events and company tournaments. Golf Digest rated Castlegar Golf
Club a four star golf course. The most challenging hole on the course is the 456 yard 9th. Not
only does this par four require two long shots to reach the green, but the approach shot must
be well placed if you are to set yourself up for a birdie or par. The preferred shot on the
9th’Äôs back to front sloped green is a hit and roll approach to avoid leaving the ball above
the hole with a treacherous downhill putt. As Castlegar has the largest practice facility in
the region, it has been host to many of the province’Äôs tournaments. The Club offers golf and
accommodation packages The quality, challenge and reward sets Castlegar apart from its
competitors.
