Carnoustie Golf Club
Carnoustie sits on a 110 acre parcel of land that was once the site of a dairy
farm. Known in its early days as the PoCo Valley Golf Club, the course has retained its
pastoral heritage through the years and remains a very pleasant setting for a round of golf.
Its 6369 yards of playing surface is graced with many beautiful trees and some picturesque
views of the mountains to the north and east. The terrain here is level, but the course is
anything but straight ahead. In fact, the most notable feature of this course is its some-what
twisting layout, and no less than 12 of its fairways possess doglegs. Of these, the 11th is
considered the most difficult - partly due to the 45o bend in the fairway, but mostly due to
heavy bunkering around the green.
