Peace River
Mighty Peace Golf and Country Club
Golf in the Peace River area dates back to the 1920s, when the original site for
the Mighty Peace Golf and Country Club existed on the West Hill, now the location of a
residential subdivision. The course has occupied its current location since 1977 when it
opened with nine holes, followed by a second nine that were added in 1990. The picturesque
Mighty Peace is carved out of mixed woods that are typical of the northern Alberta area. With
an excellent combination of doglegs and rolling greens, the course is challenging for any
golfer’Äôs skill level. One of the more demanding holes on the golf course is the 12th. This 431
yard par 4 requires a long carry off the tee to a tight landing area in order to set up a
difficult approach to a narrow, well bunkered green. Equally difficult is the 18th hole. This
402 yard dogleg right also requires a long tee shot and a mid- to long-iron into a small
green, making it a great finishing hole to your game at the Mighty Peace. The course offers a
fully stocked Pro Shop, driving range and a CPGA Professional on staff.
